leisure programs
The hotel area is rich in sights and programs. The most interesting are the following:
Elisabeth look-out tower, which was built between 1908 and 1910, is on the highest point of Budapest. There is a wonderful full view. In clear weather you can see as far as 77 kms.
There are several ways to get there. In case you plan a longer walk, take the Cogwheel Railway from Városmajor. If you decide on a shorter trip than take the Children Railway or the Chair Lift.
The Cogwheel Railway goes from Városmajor to Széchenyi Hill, it takes 3,7 kms and there is a 325m grade difference. The Cogwheel Railway operates from 1874 and it is popular among residents of Budapest, visitors from other regions of Hungary and tourists alike.
The Chair Lift with its 1040 metre rope-way and wonderful view, provides a joyful family outing. It is open from May to September from 9 am to 7 pm.
The Children Railway goes from Hűvösvölgy to Széchenyi Hill. On Saturdays and Sundays there is a steam locomotive. At each stop you get the opportunity to go on lovely walks in the woods at the outcircle of Budapest.
Budakeszi Game Reserve is a mere 10 minute by car from the hotel. The Game Reserve offers European and Hungarian game in a 26 acre area.
